Notes that 48 states and territories currently participate in Nursys with 3 additional jurisdictions signed on, while Illinois is a dues-paying NCSBN member but does not fully participate.

Highlights that full participation would provide Illinois nurses' disciplinary information to employers and the public through the "Licensure Quick Confirm" feature on www.nursys.com and enable instant notifications when Illinois licensees are disciplined in other jurisdictions.

States that Illinois Board of Nursing will incur no revenue loss from full participation since the license verification service would be optional and participation is a no-cost benefit to NCSBN members.

Specifically urges the Illinois Board of Nursing to sign the Nursys participation agreement in 2012.
