Recognizes the Village of Riverdale, located 23 miles south of the Chicago Loop, as the "Best Little Village in Illinois" on the occasion of its 117th anniversary.

Commends Riverdale's urban forest for its diverse Southern tree species including Shumard Oaks, Sweet gums, Flowering Dogwoods, and Sugar Maples, along with rare bird migration activity in the east Ivanhoe section.

Acknowledges the Riverdale Tree Commission, created in 2002 with volunteer residents and an arborist, for designing and implementing the Village Tree Program and conducting community-wide educational efforts.

Notes that the National Arbor Day Foundation has recognized Riverdale as a "Tree City USA" community for 11 consecutive years for its comprehensive community forestry program.

Supports the Riverdale Tree Commission's continued efforts in developing Riverdale into a "Green" community and directs presentation of the resolution to the commission as a symbol of esteem and respect.
