Expresses condolences for the death of Wayne E. Van Dyke of Gurnee, who passed away on July 26, 2012.

Honors Van Dyke's military service in World War II with the 41st Tank Battalion, 11th Armored Division, including combat in the Battle of the Bulge, and his receipt of the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, British Military Medal, and Luxembourg's Croix de Guerre.

Recognizes Van Dyke's post-war career as a senior industrial engineer at Johns-Manville Corp. for 26 years and his education including a bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of Illinois.

Survives by his wife Frances (married 54 years), three children, five grandchildren, and extended family.

Directs that a copy of the resolution be presented to Van Dyke's family as an expression of sympathy.
