Illinois House of Representatives congratulates Jean A. Kenol for being named the Joliet Area Young Professionals 2012 Young Professional of the Year.

Jean Kenol is a University of Notre Dame graduate who attended law school at University of Illinois on a full-tuition Lincoln Scholarship and was admitted to practice law in Illinois and the U.S. District Court Northern District of Illinois.

Kenol currently practices law at Mahoney, Silverman, & Cross, LLC, specializing in corporate and business law, real estate law, zoning and land use, and local government law; he holds a BV attorney rating by Martindale-Hubbell and was listed as a "rising star" in 2009 Illinois Super Lawyers & Rising Stars magazine.

Kenol has served as President of the Notre Dame Club of Joliet, on the Board of Directors for United Cerebral Palsy of Will County, and as a Commissioner of the Joliet Police and Fire Commission from 2008-2010.

Kenol serves on the Illinois State Bar Association's Young Lawyers Division Council since May 2007 and will chair it in 2013; he was appointed to the Illinois State Bar Association's Board of Governors in June 2012.
