Congratulates the Benet Redwings Girls Volleyball team on winning the Class 4A state championship with a record of 40-2.

Team achieved back-to-back state championships despite losing 95 percent of their offensive production from the previous year's championship squad and graduating four Division I players and 10 seniors.

First back-to-back Class 4A champions since the state expanded to four classes in 2007, and first back-to-back champions in the largest class since the 1994-1995 season.

Won the championship match against New Trier 21-25, 25-22, and 25-17 at Redbird Arena, becoming the first team to defeat New Trier in a full match that season.

Player of the match was Cara Mattaliano with 21 kills and 6 digs; key performers included Brittany Pavich with 9 kills and 6 digs and Hannah Kaminsky with 33 assists, under head coach Brad Baker.
