Illinois House of Representatives mourns the death of Thomas E. Harrington, Sr. of Champaign, who passed away on August 8, 2012

Harrington was born March 2, 1931, graduated from Champaign High School in 1949, University of Illinois in 1953, and University of Illinois College of Law in 1955

Practiced law for over 50 years with Busch and Harrington firm and served as Champaign County Public Defender from 1957 to 1959

Active in community philanthropy including St. Matthew Catholic Church, School of St. Thomas More, and served on Carle Foundation Board of Trustees from 1988 to 1997 as chairman 1991-1993

Survived by his wife Andrea, four sons, numerous grandchildren, and siblings; preceded in death by his parents and sister
