Congratulates Police Chief Raymond J. Rose on his retirement after 20 years as chief of police for the Village of Mundelein.

Rose served 24 years with the Elk Grove Village Police Department before becoming Mundelein's chief in 1992, achieving the rank of deputy chief.

Rose completed extensive law enforcement training including the FBI Academy at Quantico, Northwestern University's Police Administration Training Program, and Harvard's Senior Management Institute for Police; holds a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences and Master's Degree in Public Administration from Northern Illinois University.

Rose served as past president of the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police and Lake County Chiefs of Police Association and held leadership roles in multiple law enforcement organizations including the Lake County Major Crime Task Force and Lake County Metropolitan Enforcement Group.

Mundelein's police department under Rose's leadership achieved numerous recognitions including multiple Illinois Traffic Safety Challenge placements, the 2009 IACP/Motorola Webber Seavey Award for Quality in Law Enforcement, and the 2010 Community Policing Award from the International Chiefs of Police Association.
