Honors Dr. Irene H. Brodie on her 24th consecutive year as mayor of Robbins, making her the longest-serving female African-American mayor in the nation.

Recognizes her early career as a teacher and educator at Kellar Elementary School and Turner Elementary School, and her doctorate in education from Northeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Acknowledges her role at Moraine Valley Community College where she became the first African-American dean and helped grow the college to the second largest community college in Illinois with over 30,000 students.

Highlights her mayoral scholarship program that has funded tuition for hundreds of students and her service on various boards including the Illinois Municipal League, National Conference of Black Mayors, and President Bill Clinton's environmental think-tank group.

Directs that a suitable copy of the resolution be presented to Dr. Brodie as an expression of the House's esteem and respect.
