Illinois House honors Gary L. Clayton for 25 years of service as chief executive officer of the Illinois Association of Realtors

Clayton holds Certified Association Executive (CAE) and Realtor Association Certified Executive (RCE) designations and received the 2011 William R. Magel Award of Excellence

Prior to leading IAR, Clayton served 8 years as director of the Illinois Department of Registration and Education and held positions with the Illinois Department of Law Enforcement and U.S. Postal Service

Under Clayton's leadership, the Illinois Association of Realtors became a highly respected organization and trusted voice on property ownership, real estate, and private property rights at the State Capitol

Clayton holds degrees in political science from Southeast Missouri State University and in social justice administration from the University of Illinois at Springfield; he is married to Marcia and has four children
