Honors the 2013 Martin Luther King Day of Service Planning Committee of Joliet, Illinois for organizing volunteer service projects fulfilling Dr. King's vision of serving humanity.

Recognizes the committee's coordination with multiple non-profit organizations including Community Services of Will County Inc., National Hook-up of Black Women, University of St. Francis, and the Joliet Slammers.

Acknowledges the federal King Holiday and Service Act of 1994, which designated the King Holiday as a national day of volunteer service led by the Corporation for National and Community Services.

Encourages Illinois residents to observe the King Day of Service on January 21, 2013 by participating in volunteer community service projects throughout the state.

Directs that a suitable copy of the resolution be presented to the 2013 Martin Luther King Day of Service Planning Committee of Joliet, Illinois.
