Illinois House of Representatives honors State Representative Michael Connelly for his service in the General Assembly and commitment to his district.

Representative Connelly served on the DuPage County Board from 2006 to 2008 representing Naperville, Lisle, and Aurora, and previously served 6 years as a trustee on the Village of Lisle Board of Trustees.

Connelly received multiple awards including the Illinois Chamber of Commerce 2011-2012 "Champion of Free Enterprise," the Illinois State Crime Commission Award of Excellence in Government (2007), and the Bishop Sheil Award from the Illinois Police Athletic League (2008).

His first passed bill changed Illinois procurement procedures to allow reverse online auctions, and he serves on numerous House committees including Judiciary I - Civil Law, Public Utilities, Small Business Empowerment & Workforce, and Veterans' Affairs.

A Chicago native educated at Loyola University (1986) and John Marshall Law School (1989), Connelly previously worked as an assistant State's Attorney and law clerk before establishing a private law practice.
