Honors Representative Chapin Rose for his service and accomplishments in the Illinois House of Representatives and congratulates him on his election to the 51st Illinois State Senate District.

Rose served as Senior Assistant State's Attorney in Champaign County before joining the Illinois House in 2003 and earned his bachelor's degree and law degree from the University of Illinois.

As Co-Chairman of the House Republican Methamphetamine Task Force, Rose organized public hearings across the state and spearheaded passage of comprehensive legislation to combat methamphetamine production and use.

Rose contributed to a rewrite of Illinois' Criminal Code, bipartisan Medicaid reforms, Performance Based Budgeting for universities, and supported capital projects at Eastern Illinois University, University of Illinois, and community colleges.

Rose received multiple awards including the 2003 Bowhay Fellowship Award, Illinois Farm Bureau "Friend of Agriculture" Award, 2005 Legislative Leadership Award, and 2007 Friends of Fairness Award, and testified at the impeachment trial of Governor Rod Blagojevich.
