IL SB1216

Allows vehicle emission inspections to be scheduled outside the normal 2-year inspection cycle if the vehicle owner expects to be out of State during the scheduled inspection.

Requires vehicle owners to submit a sworn affidavit to the Agency stating they expect to be out of State during the normal scheduled inspection, submitted at least 30 days before the scheduled inspection date.

Applies to both the computer-matched inspection program (Section 13C-15(a)(3)) and the registration denial inspection program (Section 13C-15(b)(3)).

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
