IL SB1610

Amends the State Records Act to authorize the State Records Commission to make recommendations to the Secretary of State concerning policies, guidelines, and best practices for electronic records management.

Modifies the Government Electronic Records Act to replace references to the "Electronic Records Advisory Board" with the "State Records Commission" in the definitions section.

Adds Section 37 to the Government Electronic Records Act requiring the Secretary of State to post the State Records Commission's recommendations on its official website and distribute them to all government agencies as soon as practical.

Repeals Sections 30 and 40 of the Government Electronic Records Act.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
