IL SB1917

Amends the Personnel Code Section 4d to create a partial exemption from jurisdiction B for certain positions in the Department of Central Management Services information technology and telecommunications bureau.

Exempts positions requiring specialized and advanced training in information technology deployment, support, design, operation, or management of computer hardware, software, telecommunications, or wide-area networks when specifically required by the position description.

Exempts positions requiring industry-recognized information technology certifications when specifically required by the position description within the state IT bureau.

Exemption applies only to the extent that requirements of Sections 8b.1, 8b.3, and 8b.5 of the Personnel Code need not be met.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
