IL SB2043

Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code to require LINK cards (electronic benefits transfer cards) used for SNAP benefits or cash to display the cardholder's name and photo beginning January 1, 2012.

Restricts LINK card usage to the named cardholder only, requiring the photo on the card to match the user attempting to access benefits.

Directs the Department of Human Services to begin transitioning to photo-enabled LINK cards upon the effective date of the bill, with the transition completed no later than January 1, 2012.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
