IL SB2561

Amends the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Confidentiality Act to allow disclosure of mental health records without patient consent in sexually violent persons commitment proceedings.

Permits therapists and treatment providers to disclose records to the Attorney General, State's Attorney, Department of Human Services, Department of Corrections, Department of Juvenile Justice, the court, and other court-directed parties.

Allows disclosure of Department of Corrections records that were relied upon in providing mental health or developmental disabilities services under the Sexually Violent Persons Commitment Act.

Restricts use of disclosed records and information to sexually violent persons commitment proceedings only.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
