IL SB2579

Amends Section 15-107 of the Illinois Vehicle Code to modify kingpin-to-rear-axle distance limitations for semi-trailers longer than 48 feet on Class I, Class II, and Class III highways.

Exempts trailers and semi-trailers used for transporting livestock from the kingpin-to-rear-axle distance limits on Class I highways (45 feet 6 inches), Class II highways (45 feet 6 inches), and Class III highways (42 feet 6 inches).

Maintains all other existing vehicle length regulations and dimensional restrictions for various vehicle combinations operating on different highway classifications.

Applies exemption specifically to livestock transport as defined in Section 18b-101 of the Illinois Vehicle Code.
