SB3285 Summary

• Eliminates the Gas Use Tax on out-of-state gas purchases effective January 1, 2013, ending the tax imposed since October 1, 2003.

• Eliminates the occupation tax imposed under the Gas Revenue Tax Act effective January 1, 2013, which taxed persons distributing or selling gas to end-use customers.

• Both tax eliminations apply to transactions occurring on or after January 1, 2013.

• The Act takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
