SB3322 Summary

• Permits residential services providers contracting with the Department of Children and Family Services and Department of Human Services to conduct a 60-day evaluation and assessment period for children ages 5 to 22 with developmental or intellectual disabilities to facilitate transition to community-based group homes.

• Requires the 60-day evaluation and assessment period to begin upon admission and be conducted in a campus-based residential program to assess the child's functioning and overall performance.

• Authorizes completion of specified disciplines during the evaluation period, including admissions, education or classroom support, speech or language services, occupational and physical therapy, behavioral health services, medical and health services, and residential services.

• Applies identical provisions to residential facilities accepting students ages 5 to 22 with developmental or intellectual disabilities for services paid for by Illinois public state agencies under the School Code.

• Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
