Renumbers Section 10-20.53 to 10-20.54 and Section 34-18.45 to 34-18.46 in the School Code regarding student athlete concussions and head injuries.

Requires each school board to adopt a policy on student athlete concussions and head injuries in compliance with Illinois High School Association protocols, including immediate removal of athletes showing concussion signs and prohibition from return to play until cleared by a physician or certified athletic trainer working with a physician.

Mandates that concussion and head injury policy information be included in any agreement, contract, or written instrument that student athletes and their parents or guardians must sign before participating in practice or interscholastic competition.

Requires the Illinois High School Association to make education materials available to all school districts describing the nature and risk of concussions and head injuries, including risks of continuing play after injury.

Requires each school district to use Illinois High School Association education materials to educate coaches, student athletes, and parents about concussions and head injuries.
