IL SB3423

Amends the Alcoholism and Other Drug Abuse and Dependency Act to modify eligibility requirements for defendants to elect treatment under designated programs as an alternative to prosecution.

Expands ineligibility criteria to include additional methamphetamine-related offenses under Section 60(b)(3), 60(b)(4), 60(b)(5), and 60(b)(6) of the Methamphetamine Control and Community Protection Act.

Makes defendants ineligible for treatment election if they are otherwise ineligible for probation under Section 70 of the Methamphetamine Control and Community Protection Act.

Maintains existing bars to treatment election for crimes of violence, certain controlled substance violations, multiple violent crime convictions, pending felony charges, and prior treatment program admissions within a 2-year period.
