IL SB3455

Amends the Premises Liability Act to reduce the required distance between firearm ranges and occupied dwellings from 1,000 yards to 500 yards for ranges established after January 1, 1994.

Provides immunity from criminal liability and protections against nuisance or trespass claims for firearm range owners or operators if they meet one of five specified requirements, including distance compliance, sound-dampening structures, zoning compliance, or government operation/licensing.

Grants immunity to ranges that met the 500-yard distance requirement at the time of operation but were subsequently located within 500 yards of a dwelling built on adjacent property after the range began operations.

Maintains full immunity for firearm ranges that existed on January 1, 1994, regardless of distance from occupied dwellings.

Effective immediately upon becoming law.
