SB3548 Summary

• Reduces Illinois Public Safety Agency Network (IPSAN) board from 14 members to 9 voting members, with 3 each appointed by Illinois Sheriffs' Association, Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police, and Illinois Fire Chiefs Association.

• Changes board member terms from staggered 2-4 year terms to one-year terms at the pleasure of the appointing association, with annual eligibility for re-appointment.

• Grants IPSAN board authority to execute notes, mortgages, and trust deeds to secure payment and to purchase or lease real estate or personal property for up to 25 years.

• Removes requirements for IPSAN to develop minority/women/disability business utilization policies and report annually to Governor and General Assembly on such utilization.

• Eliminates requirement for IPSAN to transfer funds from Criminal Justice Information Systems Trust Fund and removes provisions allowing acceptance of personnel services and equipment from board members as financial support.
