SB3549 Summary

• Allows courts to order self-employed or business-owning parents found in contempt for failure to pay child support to provide monthly financial statements showing business income and expenses.

• Permits courts to require self-employed obligors to seek employment and report their job search efforts to the court, or to register with the Department of Employment Security for job search services.

• Applies the same contempt penalties and self-employment financial disclosure requirements to child support enforcement under the Illinois Public Aid Code, the Non-Support Punishment Act, and the Illinois Parentage Act of 1984.

• Effective January 1, 2013.
