IL SB3581

Amends the Firearm Owners Identification Card Act (430 ILCS 65/3) to permit Illinois residents to purchase ammunition from sellers within or outside Illinois if shipped via United States mail or private express carrier authorized by federal law.

Requires residents purchasing ammunition to provide the seller with a copy of their valid Firearm Owner's Identification Card and either their Illinois driver's license or Illinois State Identification Card prior to ammunition shipment.

Restricts ammunition shipment to addresses listed on either the driver's license or state identification card provided.

Exempts persons specified in Section 2(b) of the Firearm Owners Identification Card Act from ammunition transfer provisions.

Takes effect immediately upon passage.
