IL SB3590

Amends the Veterinary Medicine and Surgery Practice Act of 2004 to add charging in excess of $250 without express prior authorization as grounds for disciplinary action against licensed veterinarians.

Makes it grounds for discipline if any person with a license or certificate under the Act charges more than $250 for services performed on an animal without obtaining express prior authorization from the animal's owner.

Disciplinary actions available to the Department include refusal to issue or renew licenses, revocation, suspension, probation, reprimand, or fines up to $1,000 for each violation.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
