IL SB3603

Amends the Unified Code of Corrections (730 ILCS 5/3-3-1) to require Prisoner Review Board members with juvenile experience to undergo annual training in juvenile issues.

Applies to the 6 Board members who must have at least 3 years of experience in juvenile matters.

Board consists of 15 total members appointed by the Governor with Senate consent, serving full-time with established salary levels ($35,000 for Chairman, $30,000 for other members).

Board members must have at least 5 years of actual experience in penology, corrections, law enforcement, sociology, law, education, social work, medicine, psychology, or related behavioral sciences.
