IL SB3702

Amends the Unified Code of Corrections to restrict good conduct credit for prisoners convicted of attempt to commit predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, attempt to commit aggravated criminal sexual assault, attempt to commit criminal sexual assault, or attempt to commit aggravated kidnapping committed on or after the bill's effective date to no more than 4.5 days per month of imprisonment.

Clarifies that existing prisoners serving sentences for the completed versions of these offenses (predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, aggravated criminal sexual assault, criminal sexual assault, and aggravated kidnapping) also receive no more than 4.5 days of good conduct credit per month when committed on or after June 19, 1998.

Maintains the existing good conduct credit framework for other offenses, including 1 day per day of credit for most crimes, 4.5 days per month for certain violent and sexual offenses, and 7.5 days per month for drug-related offenses involving 100 grams or more of controlled substance.

Preserves provisions allowing the Department of Corrections Director to award up to 180 days of additional good conduct credit for meritorious service, subject to restrictions for prisoners convicted of serious offenses including the newly-restricted attempted sexual assault and kidnapping crimes.
