IL SB3714

Amends Section 3-5-2 of the Unified Code of Corrections (730 ILCS 5/3-5-2) concerning institutional records maintained by the Department of Corrections.

Requires the Department to maintain records of examination, assignment, transfer, and discipline of committed persons, as well as grievances filed in its institutions, facilities, and programs.

Specifies that institutional records must contain the names of persons involved, time, date, place, and purpose of procedures, decisions and their basis, and any reviews of those decisions.

Makes a technical change to the existing statute language.
