Amends Section 2-101 of the Code of Civil Procedure regarding venue provisions for civil actions.

Makes a technical change by removing duplicate language ("the" appears twice) in the opening provision concerning where actions must be commenced.

Maintains existing venue rules allowing actions to be filed in the county where a defendant resides or where the transaction or cause of action occurred.

Preserves special venue provisions for child support enforcement cases (State Disbursement Unit location) and municipalities with corporate limits extending across multiple counties.
