IL SB3937

Allows the State Board of Elections to issue a proclamation authorizing petition filing offices to close at noon instead of 5:00 P.M. on the last day of the filing period if that day falls before a State holiday.

Requires the proclamation to be issued before the first day for circulating nomination petitions, except for the 2013 consolidated election period which must be proclaimed within 7 business days after the act's effective date.

Permits early voting polling places to remain open from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays as an alternative to the standard 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. hours.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
