Recognizes children's interstitial lung disease as a group of rare, life-threatening lung diseases that can cause progressive lung scarring or lifelong lung problems in children.

Notes that certain forms progress rapidly and can cause disability or death within the first two years of life, and are among the leading causes of lung transplantation in children.

Acknowledges that these diseases are often misdiagnosed or underdiagnosed, have no proven cure or treatment, and receive limited research funding.

Supports research efforts and advocates working to educate the public, provide support to affected individuals, and fund research to find a cure for children's interstitial lung disease.

Designates the first week of May as Children's Interstitial Lung Disease Awareness Week in Illinois.
