Robert M. Evans of Carlinville passed away on May 21, 2012, at age 84.

Born February 13, 1928, to Morgan and Lula Evans; graduated from Fillmore High School in 1945 and married Maxine M. Toberman on November 11, 1951.

Worked as a lineman and field engineer for GTE, retiring in 1984, then worked at the Carlinville Public Library with his wife; was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Survived by daughter Sue Elk, sons Ken Evans and Dave Evans, four grandchildren (Hannah, Joe, Reid, and Sophie), brother James "Tip" Evans, and several nieces and nephews.

Illinois Senate expresses condolences to his family and directs presentation of a suitable copy of this resolution to the Evans family.
