United States Army Corporal Bryant J. "B.J." Luxmore of New Windsor was killed in Afghanistan on June 10, 2012, after being deployed just 2 months prior.

Luxmore was born November 3, 1986, graduated from Sherrard High School in 2005, and earned his degree from Illinois College in 2009 where he played collegiate baseball.

He entered the Army in April 2011 and was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division; he married Jaimie Lower on October 8, 2011.

Luxmore was posthumously promoted to corporal and awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and Combat Infantryman Badge.

The Illinois Senate resolves to mourn his passing, honor his service and sacrifice, and present a suitable copy of this resolution to his family as a symbol of sympathy.
