Illinois Senate expresses condolences on the death of Jennie J. Zabukovec of Waukegan, who passed away on June 5, 2012.

Zabukovec was born December 18, 1928, and worked at Great Lakes Naval Training Center as a secretary for the Chaplain Service during the Vietnam War and later as an accounting clerk and school lunchroom supervisor.

She was active in her faith community at Mother of God Church and St. Dismas Parish, receiving the 2002 Woman of the Year award from the St. Dismas Women's Club, and was a member of the Slovenic National Home Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over 62 years, John Zabukovec, and is survived by four daughters, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and numerous other family members.

The Senate directs that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Zabukovec family as a symbol of sincere sympathy.
