G. Edward Hucker of Beach Park died on June 26, 2012, and the Illinois Senate expresses mourning for his passing.

Born April 24, 1932, in Waukegan; married Jean Sills on August 6, 1955; graduated from Waukegan Township High School and attended Lake Forest College.

Served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954, stationed in Germany; owned and operated Hucker Electric for 35 years after taking over in 1961.

Served extensively in his community as a Boy Scout Leader, member of the Waukegan Jaycees and Exchange Club, Chairman of the Waukegan/Lake County Chamber of Commerce, and Benton Township Trustee for 22 years.

Survived by four children, eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren; a suitable copy of the resolution will be presented to his family.
