Michael P. Schostok of Libertyville died on July 15, 2012, and was married to Illinois Appellate Justice Mary Seminara Schostok for 25 years.

He was an attorney with Salvi, Schostok, and Pritchard in Chicago and Waukegan, specializing in personal injury law, medical malpractice, and catastrophic injury cases.

He received the Leonard M. Ring Lifetime Achievement Award from the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association in 2011.

He earned his juris doctor degree from Capital University Law School in 1986 and bachelor of science degree from Miami University in 1983.

The Illinois Senate extends condolences to his surviving family: wife Mary, children Marisa, Gina, and Michael, mother Kathleen Kapsa, siblings Stephen, Bradley, and Katherine, and stepmother Dr. Patricia Schostok Reese.
