Honors Anthony E. "Tony" Gordon of Grayslake, who died on August 6, 2012

Gordon was born May 29, 1952, in Waukegan; served in the U.S. Army and received the Army Distinguished Service Cross, Silver Star, 3 Purple Hearts, and Vietnam Campaign Medal

Worked as a newspaper reporter for approximately 30 years, including 10 years at the News-Sun and 16 years at the Daily Herald in Lake County; received the Liberty Bell Award from the Lake County Bar Association and the 1994 press coverage award from the Lake County Children's Advocacy Center

Survived by his wife Carolyn and three siblings: Billy Gordon, Mary Ann Gordon, and Rita Kip

Senate extends condolences to Gordon's family and directs that a copy of this resolution be presented to them
