William Joseph "Bill" Zorzy died on August 9, 2012; he was born on March 7, 1939, to Joseph and Hildegard Zorzy.

Zorzy graduated from North Chicago High School and Northeastern University, served in the U.S. Army, and retired as Chief of Police in North Chicago in 1998 after 25 years of service.

He was married to Mary Ann Zorzy and had four children: William, Julianne, Michael, and David, along with 10 grandchildren.

Zorzy was a member of Lake Villa American Legion Post 1219, the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police, and the North Chicago Police Pension Board.

The Illinois Senate mourns his passing and extends condolences to his family and friends, with a suitable copy of the resolution to be presented to his family.
