Barbara J. Ingram passed away on August 13, 2012; she was born January 26, 1936, in Chicago and graduated from Dunbar High School in 1954.

Worked as a model at Johnson Publications in the 1950s, took college courses at City Colleges of Chicago in the 1970s, and worked for the Chicago Archdiocese Head Start Program and social service agencies during the 1980s and 1990s.

Operated her own boutique in the fashion and merchandising industries and had a passion for travel, visiting Jamaica, Mexico, Amsterdam, Germany, France, and the Bahamas annually for 30 years.

Met numerous elected officials including former President Bill Clinton and then-Senator Barack Obama due to her interest in politics.

Survived by her husband Daniel Ingram, three children (Tracy Lynn, Carla Deniece, and Daniel Jr.), and other family members including Illinois State Senator Toi Hutchinson, her honorary daughter.
