Illinois Senate expresses condolences for the death of Richard Joseph "Rick" Steger of East Moline, who passed away on September 18, 2012.

Steger was born June 12, 1953, graduated from Western Illinois University, served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, and worked as a welder at John Deere Harvester Works for 36 years before retiring in 2009.

He was a member of 40 and 8 Voiture 433, Colona American Legion, Ex-Servicemen's Club, and UAW Local 865, and enjoyed camping and showing classic El Caminos in parades.

Steger is survived by his wife Elizabeth, daughters Carey and Valerie, step-son Dan, five grandchildren, and four siblings.

Senate directs that a copy of the resolution be presented to Steger's family as expression of sympathy.
