Senate Resolution mourning the death of Dana J. "Double D" Davis of Peoria, who passed away on October 3, 2012

Davis was born September 25, 1956, graduated from Manual High School and Bradley University, and held positions including Vice President of Basketball Operations for the Vancouver/Memphis Grizzlies and tour manager for funk musician Bootsy Collins

Served as basketball coach at Manuel High School and football coach at Woodruff High School, IHSA basketball/baseball official, and Peoria County Board member

Received the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Service Award, inducted into the Peoria African American Hall of Fame, and founded the Mitchell "JJ" Anderson All Star Basketball Camp

Illinois Senate extends sincere condolences to Davis's family and friends and directs presentation of a suitable copy of the resolution to his family
