Illinois Senate expresses condolences for the death of Barbara Hamsmith of Aurora, who passed away on August 31, 2012.

Barbara Hamsmith was born February 24, 1950, earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from North Central College in 2009 after 11 years of part-time study, and worked as a secretary, computer programmer, material handling sales specialist, and bookkeeper.

Served as a church organist for more than 40 years at St. Peter's Church and Holy Angels Church in Aurora, and worked as an Extraordinary Minister at Holy Angels.

Survived by her husband of 40 years Jerry, children Matthew and Rachel, granddaughter Cecilia, siblings Karen Oleckno, Jeannie Currie, and Frank Guzauskas, and close friends Patrick and Mary Dougherty.

Senate directs that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Barbara Hamsmith's family as an expression of sympathy.
