Illinois Senate mourns the death of Lombard Village President William J. "Bill" Mueller, who passed away on August 18, 2012.

Mueller served as Village President of Lombard since 1993 and was the longest serving village president in Lombard's history, beginning his 5th consecutive term in May 2009.

Mueller owned Bill Mueller Insurance Agency on Westmore Avenue after returning to Lombard in 1965 and retired from American Family Insurance in 2005.

Mueller held numerous leadership positions including co-chair of Glenbard Wastewater Authority, chairman of DuComm, vice chairman of DuPage Water Commission, and served as president of the DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference.

Mueller was survived by his wife Eileen, daughters Debbie and Donna, four grandchildren, and extended family; he was preceded in death by his nephew Joe Harrington.
