Gerald "Jerry" E. Sewell passed away on November 8, 2012, and was born in Alton on July 8, 1933.

Served in the U.S. Army and was an active member of VFW Post 1308, Masonic Lodge, Kiwanis Club, Shriners International, and multiple community and religious organizations in the Alton area.

Married Margie Crayne in September 1955 and, following her death, Nancy Massar in September 2004; survived by his second wife Nancy, son William "Bill" Sewell, sister Sandy Strohmeier, and several nieces and nephews.

Illinois Senate extends condolences to Gerald Sewell's family, friends, and all who knew him.

Senate directs that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Sewell family as an expression of sympathy.
