Illinois Senate passes memorial resolution mourning the death of John Zeit, who passed away on October 17, 2012, at age 85.

Zeit was born January 20, 1927, in Cleveland, Ohio; graduated from Western Reserve University; served in the U.S. Marine Corps; and worked as an accountant for American Steel and Wire, Ozite Corporation, and Domino Amjet.

Zeit volunteered with Junior Achievement, Easter Seals, and United Way, and was an active member of Living Faith United Methodist Church.

Zeit is survived by his wife of 64 years Sally Lou, three daughters (Betsy, Nancy, and Kathy), three grandchildren, one great-grandson, his sister Lois, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Senate extends sincere condolences to Zeit's family, friends, and loved ones, and directs a suitable copy of the resolution be presented to his family.
