Little Pony Eagle of Godfrey died on October 31, 2012, at age 89, having been born January 19, 1923, in Saint Joseph, Missouri.

Served in the U.S. Army's 5th Bomber Command during World War II in the Pacific Theatre and earned 5 Bronze Stars and a Good Conduct Medal.

Graduated from Roosevelt Junior High School at age 16 and was believed to be the first true American Indian to graduate from an Alton public school; later earned an engineering degree from Shurtleff College.

Worked as an engineer at McDonnell Douglas in the 1960s on the Gemini Project and was a Shriner and 32nd Degree Mason with Piasa Masonic Lodge #27.
