James Dillow of Shannon died on December 10, 2012, at age 40 while serving as a flight nurse for REACT of Rockford Memorial Hospital.

Dillow was a nursing supervisor at FHN Memorial Hospital and had worked as a flight nurse for 11 years before his death, which occurred during a patient transport mission in bad weather alongside fellow flight nurse Karen Hollis and pilot Andrew Olesen.

Born August 29, 1972, Dillow graduated from Eastland High School in 1990, attended Bob Jones University, and graduated from St. Anthony College of Nursing in Rockford; he married Rachel Cruz on August 20, 1994.

The Illinois Senate extends condolences to Dillow's surviving family, including his wife Rachel, four children (Shelby, Libby, Gabriel, and Jacob), parents, four sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A suitable copy of this resolution shall be presented to the Dillow family as an expression of the Senate's deepest sympathy.
