Honors Senator Jeffrey M. Schoenberg for 22 years of service in the Illinois General Assembly, including 6 terms in the House and 3 terms in the Senate.

Recognizes his work as co-chair of the Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability (COGFA) since 2003 and his leadership on ethics reform, procurement, and government accountability issues.

Credits him with savings of millions of dollars for Illinois through expertise in contracting and procurement, and for spearheading investigations into Illinois Toll Highway Authority corruption.

Acknowledges his legislative accomplishments including the Illinois Hospital Assessment Plan to leverage federal Medicaid dollars, pension fund divestment from Iran-related companies, a Budget Stabilization fund, gun control advocacy, and support for the Illinois Safe Choice Zones Act.

Directs presentation of a suitable copy of the resolution to Senator Schoenberg as recognition of his service and commitment to public good.
